I applaud HEARTS Port Washington for shining a light on the value of supporting and promoting the arts. It’s hard to imagine a world without music, painting, performances and other artful expressions that enrich our lives and elevate our spirits. I am looking forward to PortFest to celebrate our community, the arts and this wonderful cause. Mariann Dalimonte I had a great time and my daughter Amanda has decided to play in the band for 4th grade because she loved trying all of the instruments Wright music had in their tent. That was a great idea. When do you ever get to try all the instruments to see what you like and speak to someone about it. Sometimes kids pick the wrong instrument and it turns them off to try anything else. Thank You!! Mindy Germain Thank you HEARTS for inviting Residents For A More Beautiful Port Washington to participate in such a wonderful and inspiring community event. We look forward to Port Washington becoming more BEAUTIFUL as HEARTS continues to invest in music, art & culture in Port Washington. With gratitude to Damon Gersh, Sherri Suzzan, Victor Germain, Leigh Richards, Larry Menaker and the many volunteers that pulled together to make this event a huge success! Melissa Cooper Gitlin It was a great day !!! Cindy Witkow It was amazing! Mariann Contino Dalimonte It was an amazing event. Thank you Hearts! Cindy Witkow An amazing day at Port fest. It was fabulous to see so many people committed to the arts in pw. Thx port fest committee for all your hard work! Melissa Cooper Gitlin Awesome- hats off to our fabulous community members who didn't just talk the talk-- we are so lucky to have them! Olga Berest PortFest brought together masses of families from the community to celebrate the importance and need for the continued existence of the Arts. Unlike other fairs, this one concentrated only on music, art, dance, theater and all that could creatively involve families and children. The incredible art display in the High School with a constant flow of performing events to the field filled with the glorious sound of bands and song, to laughing children running from one tent to another to experience interactive music , drama , art and dance was not to be believed. But then- the FLASH MOB happened and it got even better! After 5 minutes of silence, at 2:45pm when bands stopped , music rang out and hundreds of families and children joined together dancing to "Hands Up" doing then same choreography. What a "HEARTS moment". in support of the Arts. The father seen running to center field , pushing his stroller to begin the dance made my day! Was PortFest a success. Wow......Now you tell me! |

What a great event! Damon and the all the members of the committee, as well as the volunteers and students, should be commended! Congratulations! Matthew Weiss Congratulations Damon Gersh and your team on organizing a terrific event! Next year will be even bigger! Olga Berest Flash mob dancers! Wow, what a statement of the love you feel for the Arts. The rush of energy from the dancing crowd to the awestruck on-lookers who wondered how this all happened made this a real "Hearts " moment. I will never forget the dad that was running to the open field with his child in stroller to start dancing. You made my day. Joseph Mirzoeff Anything that brings the community together in a place where they can freely interact is a good thing. The mission, financial support for the arts in a time when funding is disappearing, is also a good thing. Amanda Great job! Congratulations to the amazing team that obviously worked very hard and pulled off an organized, entertaining, community coordinated event. Looking forward to next year! Dawn Andrew This was such a fun day. I expected to stay for a short while, but stayed for hours. There was something for children of all ages and the adults had fun too. I agree with those who are looking forward to next year. Way to go to those who organized this. Julie Meer Harnick I was impressed with the event start to finish. There were so many venues for exhibitions and performances. Damon Gersh and HEARTS certainly deserves big kudos for putting together a very well thought out, organized and inclusive event. The program that was produced for the event was also very clear and helpful as it gave descriptions of all the performances, artist and had maps and schedules. Congratulations to HEARTS on your first PortFest. I hope you raised a lot of money for Art and Music in the schools. Thank you for allowing the Community Chest of Port Washington and the other non-profits in town to participate ... Leigh Richards As the Community Liaison for HEARTS, I had a blast getting getting to know the people that make this town so great. Thank you to everyone in the community who came out to PortFest and for all the support and we have received. We look forward to more great events! |
